Hall's ashes to be scattered Sunday

By Rod Ohira
Advertiser Staff Writer

Adventurer Jimmy Hall's ashes will be scattered at sea outside of Hale'iwa Sunday in a not-so-traditional manner.

Some of Hall's ashes will be taken out by boat while paragliders jumping into the water will also be carrying ashes with them, according to Hall's agent, Micah Johnson.

A memorial service for the famed North Shore businessman and filmmaker will be held in Hale'iwa's Ali'i Beach Park from 9-11 a.m.

Hall was killed last week in the Baffin Islands.

The crew that accompanied Hall to the Baffin Islands, and BASE jumped with him, will hold news conference Friday at the Halekulani hotel.

The crew included Stefanie Brendl, Hall's girlfriend, and videographers Jake Kilfoyle and Matt Gerdes.
