Firefighters battling the blaze spotted a box of ammunition and pulled back until determining that it was safe to proceed.

An electrical short near the kitchen started today's fire that destroyed a seven-bedroom Kalihi home, according to Honolulu Fire Department investigators.
HFD spokesman Capt. Frank Johnson said damages were estimated at $395,000 to structure and $150,000 to contents.
Johnson said a smoke detector in the home was activated and alerted residents to the 5 a.m. fire at 1521 Meyers St.
A 76-year-old woman resident was taken to Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center in serious but stable condition with elevated blood pressure.
While battling the blaze, firefighters spotted a box of ammunition and pulled back until determining it was safe to proceed,fire Capt. Robert Main said.
