New members join Kahala Senior Living board

Wendell Brooks Jr. and Philip H. Ching have joined the board of directors of Kahala Senior Living Community Inc., the not-for-profit corporation that owns Kahala Nui, a senior living community in Wai'alae Kahala.

Brooks, a longtime real estate executive and founding partner of Chaney Brooks & Co., will serve as vice chairman and vice president. Ching, a former executive vice president of First Hawaiian Inc., will serve as secretary.

They join current chairman and president Joyce Timpson and treasurer Gregg Robertson on the board.

Dr. Lynette Kagihara, a dentist and associate professor at the University of Hawai'i's John A. Burns School of Medicine, and Roy King Jr., president of the Hawai'i Youth Symphony, also joined the board, along with Emeritus Charles O. Swanson, Charles Kelley, M.D., Relda Loomis and Laura Thompson.
