By Catherine E. Toth
Advertiser Urban Honolulu Writer

Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona will be the keynote speaker at an athletic awards program at Sacred Hearts Academy tomorrow.

Aiona, a two-sport athlete in high school, will recognize the achievements of the school's student athletes, including claiming the state title in air riflery for the fifth time in eight years, earning Division II titles in softball and volleyball and posting a 13-0 record as Division II basketball champions.

Sacred Hearts also earned the top spot in junior varsity and intermediate basketball and intermediate soccer.

The program will begin at 5 p.m. at the school, located at 3253 Wai'alae Ave.

Members of the Sacred Hearts sports teams will be presented certificates, letters, pins and medallions signifying their level and years of participation on the varsity level.

Most Valuable Player awards will be presented by coaches, and the school will acknowledge the recipients of the Young Scholar-Athlete and the Most Outstanding Senior Athlete.

The school will also honor softball coach Wade Okamura, who celebrates his 25th year at Sacred Hearts as a coach and 22nd year as athletic director.
