Argument preceded fatal shooting, police said

Advertiser Staff

A man who was shot and killed last night had been arguing with three men at his Kaneohe home before they forced him into a car and drove away, police said.

The argument occurred about 9:30 to 10 p.m. last night, police said, but they did not disclose the location of the home.

During the car ride, the victim, identified by police as Fernando Correa-Lua, escaped from the light-colored, four-door, Ford Crown Victoria at Kane'ohe Bay Drive and Moakaka Place, police said.

One of the men chased the victim around the car and shot him several times, killing him, police said.

The shooter then got into the back of the car, and the Crown Victoria fled on Kane'ohe Bay Drive toward Kane'ohe town, police said.

At about 11 p.m. last night, police found the car near Hale'iwa and stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of Jameson's By The Sea.

Three men fled but one of them tripped or fell. Police arrested 35-year-old William Lee Freeman of Honolulu.

A 26-year-old man, identified as Jerrico Dewon Lindsey, 26, of 'Ewa Beach, was arrested this morning around 8 a.m. at Laniakea.

Police are still looking for a third man but did not have a description.
