STILL REMEMBERING: Though Don Ho's huge memorial tribute is over, and despite his family's tragic loss of daughter Dayna Ho-Henry Friday, Hawai'i isn't done remembering the influential entertainer. This year's Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, set for June 20 at the Hawai'i Convention Center (first time there), will pay homage to Ho, thanks to the efforts of Marlene Sai, who is president of the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts. She's also a long-time Ho pal who got her start as a singer at Honey's, Ho's late mother Honey Ho's Kane'ohe establishment way back when. Tickets are $125, available at 593-9424. ...

Ho also will be one of three honorees at the Na Mea Makamae O Waikiki (Honoring Treasures of Waikiki) hoopla Aug. 10 at the Coral Ballroom of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The 2007 Kahiua Award recipients also include the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center/ Kamehameha Schools and Michael Tongg. The event benefits the Waikiki Community Center. Tickets are $175, available at 923-1802. ...

AND NOTICE? "Gold," one of the CDs by Mr. Waikiki, is back on the charts — at No. 7 last week — with sales jumping since his April 14 death. For a brief spell, his distributor, the Mountain Apple Co., was completely out of stock. ...

But hope this one's been yanked: The week after Ho's death, his voice was heard in the casino at the California Hotel in Las Vegas, inviting gamblers to play the slots. " 'Twas rather eerie hearing his voice," said one Islander who heard Ho's recorded voice. ...

WHEE, THE PEOPLE: Singer-composer Keith Haugen is a happy soul these days. Six of his tunes are being recorded for release later this year or in 2008 — here, in California and in Japan. And he's learned that a New Zealand TV special about John Rowles, produced by Los Angeles' John d'Andrea, will include Haugen's "It's Christmas (All Over the World)." Rowles is a Kiwi, and remains popular in New Zealand and Australia. His version of "Christmas" is a Down Under favorite. ...

A wedding toast to Jeff Chung and Joo-Yun Claire Kim, who tied the knot Friday at O'ahu Country Club. The groom is general manager of Korean TV station KBFD and The Advertiser's K-drama columnist. ...

STAGE SHORTS: When Broadway actor, producer and director Richard Vida arrived from New York for a vacation, he brought omiyage for local pals. For Eddie Sherman, he packed chubs (smoked whitefish) in checked luggage, since airlines forbid liquid hand-carried items (and ice melts across the continent) and the parcel went straight to Compadres, where server Jake Lowenthal prepped the dish for Sherman. For Channing Weir, who played the lead in the Army Community Theatre's "Annie" production, he secured an autographed original press photo from 30 years ago of Andrea McArdle, who originated the "Annie" role, as well as an autographed copy of McArdle's latest CD. Weir took an acting class with Vida here last August and is now acting in the Performing Arts Center of Kapolei's "Seussical" musical. ...

If you're San Francisco-bound, and planning to see "Jersey Boys" at the Curran Theatre, be advised that local boy Chris Jones, portraying Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons, has been replaced by Jarrod Spector. ...

HERE 'N' THERE: When Hapa performed at Tokyo's Cotton Club, the audience included sumotori Konishiki and his wife, Taupau, who had just returned to Japan after some R&R in Nanakuli. Kamasami Kong did a radio interview with the sumo champ for his Tokyo MetPod audience, and Konishiki mentioned he was planning an "Unbalanced" party May 17 at the Tokyo Dome that will feature, among others, Ekolu and Taimane Gardner. ...

Rain tickets (for his June 15 Aloha Stadium gig) go on sale today via Ticketmaster. ...

Out Hilo way, some jerk stole Rupert Tripp Jr.'s guitar — and he wants it back, no questions asked. ...
