Ocean safety class at resorts

Advertiser Staff

Several Kaua'i visitor industry companies have taken a county-funded ocean safety class, and the Water Awareness Visitor Education (WAVE) program is seeking more clients for the free training.

Ocean safety educator and former lifeguard Pat Durkin provides the one-hour classes to concierges, desk clerks and other visitor industry officials, so that they can provide useful information to visitors on how to remain safe around the water.

The Sheraton at Po'ipu, Grand Hyatt Kaua'i Resort, Grantham Resort and Expedia have taken the training.

For more information, call Durkin at 651-7873 or e-mail pdurkin@aquaticexpert.com.
