State basketball: Honoka'a upsets top-seed Roosevelt

All-State point guard Keisha Kanekoa had 31 points, nine rebounds and three assists to lift Honoka'a to an upset of No. 1-seed Roosevelt, 53-45, in a girls state tournament quarterfinal game at Stan Sheriff Center.

Honoka'a, which beat Moanalua, 33-25, in a first-round game last night, will play two-time defending state champion Punahou at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Roosevelt, the O'ahu Interscholastic Association champion, will play Lahainaluna at 2:15 p.m. tomorrow.
