Prosecutors today charged a 23-year-old man with first-degree electronic enticement of a child.

Ivan Y. Sakata, of Mo'ili'ili, is accused of arranging a meeting for sex with what he believed to a 13-year-old girl in an online chat room.

A Honolulu police detective assigned to the Hawai'i Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was posing as the teenage girl. Authorities were waiting for Sakata when he showed up yesterday to pick up the girl at Kahala Mall, police said.

Sakata was charged today. Bail is $25,000.
