UH tennis' Weber named ITA West Rookie of the Year

Weber is one of eight finalists for the national award, which will be announced May 22 in Athens, Ga., the site of the NCAA Individual Championship.
The native of Huenfeld, Germany, is ranked 48th in the ITA/FILA rankings and the first UH men's player to earn an invitation to the NCAAs. He is 24-6 overall and 15-2 in dual match play.
Weber was named Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and to the all-WAC first team.
