Stars from "Surf's Up," Columbia Pictures animated penguins-as-surfers film — including Jeff Bridges, Shia LaBeouf and Jon Heder — are expected to attend an invitational Hawai'i premiere of the animated movie, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Consolidated Ward Theatres 16.

Bridges provides the voice for a has-been surfer in the movie; LaBeouf is the voice for cool Cody Maverick, a teenage rockhopper penguin; and Heder is surf nut Chicken Joe. Professional surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado also are heard in the movie and will be at the launch; others from the production who will be on hand include Mario Cantone ("Sex and the City"), Ash Brannon, Chris Buck, Chris Jenkins and Sal Masekela.

Among others expected to attend: Mayor Mufi Hannemann, singer-composer Jack Johnson and chef Sam Choy.

Blue carpet arrivals begin at 6 p.m., followed by the screening.

The movie opens June 8.
