Korean pop star Rain, 24, was voted "most influential person in the world" in a recent Time magazine international online poll, and his appeal was also evident yesterday when ticket sales opened for his June 15 concert at Aloha Stadium.

Tickets for the concert went on sale at 9 a.m. yesterday and by 1:30 p.m., said promoter Danny Kim, his office had received about 50 overseas calls for VIP tickets, which go on sale today for $300 apiece.

"We're getting a lot of calls from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, even England," Kim said. "Some people call and they want to buy tickets for their parents. And Neighbor Island people are coming on Friday to purchase tickets."

Seung Su Lee is the owner of Click Entertainment. Danny Kim is Click’s local liaison for the upcoming Rain concert. Click Entertainment, opened a second temporary office at Samsung Plaza on Ke'eaumoku Street strictly to handle Rain ticket sales.

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon and who is also known as Bi ("rain" in Korean), has been called the Korean Justin Timberlake. He leads the stars of the pop culture phenomenon known as hallyu, or Korean wave.

Tickets are $55, $115 and $225, available via Ticketmaster at (877) 750-4400 or www.ticketmaster.com.

For VIP tickets, call Click Entertainment at 941-8870. Tickets are also available at Times Supermarkets.
