WAIALUA
Student art on show, for sale

Advertiser Staff

Waialua High & Intermediate School art students are showing their work at the Waialua Public Library until July 31.

The show, competition and sale culminate a semester of study with art instructor Howard Farrant.

The pieces include about 50 drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculptures and collages by 23 students in grades 7 to 12. The art was judged and four monetary awards were given at a reception May 10. Local merchants also contributed gift certificates for the students.

"I'm really impressed with their work," said art show chairwoman Petie McManus. "We do have some talented kids and they need to be recognized."
