Attractions slated for the 2007-2008 season at the Kennedy Theatre's Earle Ernst Lab Theatre on the University of Hawai'i at Manoa campus range from a sober play about environmental concerns confronting China to a quirky and somewhat weird sci-fi fantasy.

"Primetime" shows:

  • "Wild Man," by Gao Xingjian, translated by Bruno Roubicek and directed by Jessica C. Nakamura, premiering at 8 p.m. Aug. 29, repeating Aug. 30, 31 and Sept. 1 and 2 p.m. Sept. 2.

The play follows an ecologist in a small down in the wilderness of China, where a forest is being destroyed by logging as a town shuffles from tradition to modernity. Tickets: $12 regular; $10, seniors, military, UH faculty and staff; $4 UH student with valid ID.

  • "Fall Footholds," featuring UH choreographers and dancers, premiering at 8 pm. Oct. 17, repeating Oct. 18, 19 and 20 and 2 p.m. Oct. 21.

The program features the MFA thesis project of Beth Elliott and the BFA senior project of Maryann L. Peterson. Tickets: $12 regular; $10 seniors, military, UH faculty and staff; $4 UH students.

  • "Rejoice in the Lamb," a play by Kemuel DeMoville, premiering at 8 p.m. Nov. 28, repeating Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 2 .

The play is a tale of two women, whose lives run a parallel course of constraint and self-discovery — one in 1900, the other in 2000. Tickets: $12 regular, $10 seniors, military and UH faculty and staff, $4 UH students.

  • "Spring Footholds," another UH dance program, premiering at 8 p.m. April 30, 2008 repeating May 1, 2 and 3 and 2 p.m. May 4.

A thesis project by MFA candidates Becky Helfert and Amy Redmond and senior BFA project by Sarah Hartley. Tickets: $12 regular; $10 seniors, military, UH faculty and staff; $4 UH students.

    "Late Night" plays:

  • "Mercury: Science Fiction Theatre," a play by Terry Bison and James Patrick-Kelly, directed by Brett Botbyl, premiering at 11 p.m. Sept. 22, repeating Sept. 28 and 29 and 8 p.m. Sept. 23.

The play, which consists of three one-acts, is the work of a pair of science fiction writers. It brings to the limelight an element of fantasy and the bizarre, fusing "The Twilight Zone" with David Lynch. Tickets: $10, regular; $8 seniors, military, UH faculty and staff $4 UH students.

  • "Steve Martin's Naughty Bits," a comedy by Steve Martin, directed by Nicole Brilhante. It features "Wasp" and other lesser known but equally hilarious works. Tickets: $10 regular; $8 seniors, military, UH faculty and staff; $5 UH students with ID.

  • To be announced; another show, at 11 p.m. March 1, 7 and 8 and 8 p.m. March 2. Tickets: $10 regular; $8 seniors, military, UH faculty and staff; $4 UH students.
