UH confirms opener with Northern Colorado on Sept. 1

The University of Hawai'i football team will open its 2007 schedule with Division I-AA Northern Colorado on Sept. 1 at Aloha Stadium, UH confirmed today.UNC announced the game last month.
The Bears will be the second I-AA team on UH's 12-game schedule. A Sept. 22 date with Charleston Southern was announced in March.
UH may still add one more game to reach the NCAA maximum of 13 games. It currently has open dates on Oct. 20 and Nov. 3.
This will be the Bears' first season as a full-fledged I-AA member. UNC has moved up from Division II. It was 1-10 last year in the Big Sky Conference.
