Knife-wielding robber swipes cigarettes in reported robbery
A 30-year-old man was arrested in Mililani this morning after he allegedly robbed a convenience store at knifepoint.
At 2:05 a.m. this morning a 50-year-old woman was wiping down the exterior windows of the store when she turned to see a man with a knife walking toward her, according to police.
The man pointed the knife at the woman and ordered her into the store.
Once inside, the man ran behind the counter, took two packs of cigarettes and ran out, police said.
The woman hit the store's robbery alarm and responding patrol officers saw the man running away from the store.
He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery, and kidnapping.
Man, 27, arrested in tie to Kalihi parking lot vandalism incident
A 27-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly vandalized six cars in a parking lot in Kalihi.
At 2:33 p.m. yesterday Kalihi patrol officers responded to a call of a man who was walking through a parking lot and scratching cars with a pocket knife. The man also reportedly shattered a car window while a man sat inside the vehicle.
Police arrived on scene and noticed a man matching the description relayed by witnesses to police dispatchers, police said.
Witnesses pointed the man out to police and officers arrested the 27-year-old on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage, second-degree criminal property damage and four counts of fourth-degree criminal property damage.
Girlfriend, 20, arrested after reported car tire slashing
A 20-year-old woman was arrested this morning after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend and damaged his truck during an argument.
At 2:30 a.m. this morning on Wanaka Street in Honolulu, the 20-year-old woman and her 21-year-old boyfriend got into an argument at the man's home. During the argument the woman reportedly attacked the man and punched him in the face, "causing injury," police said.
The woman reportedly left the house and, using a small knife, slashed on of the tires on the man's Nissan truck, police said. She then opened the driver side door and ripped out a stereo speaker before fleeing on foot, police said.
The man called police and told them where his girlfriend lived. Officers found the woman at home and arrested her on suspicion of breaking into a car, felony abuse of a household member, and fourth-degree criminal property damage.
Man, 50, arrested in tie to girls' sexual assault report
A 50-year-old Wai'anae man was arrested yesterday after two young girls who live with him alleged that he had fondled them.
The juvenile girls are related to the man, according to police.
The girls reported that starting in October and continuing until May 11, the man inappropriately touched them, police said. One of the girls told police the man punched her when she resisted.
The man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of two counts of third-degree sexual assault, and felony abuse of a household member.
