Horsemanship of a different sort happens from 8:30 a.m. today at the Circle C Equestrian Center, 41-539 Makakalo St., Waimanalo. The Hawaii Horse Show Association will hold its first hunter/jumper show of the season — with a special guest. Flying in from California to judge the show is top West Coast trainer Nick Karazissis, who with his family owns Far West Farms in Calabasas, Calif.

Youngsters and adults will don their jodhpurs to compete in classes such as open working hunter, green rider equitation and English pleasure horse at the all-day event.

It's free. 348-1120.
