Ready and pumped for final

Saturday, May 19: I had told the girls earlier this year that regional games are usually decided by one to two runs. The games are always close, except if a team just really doesn't "show up" and play their game.

We showed up today.

UCLA's pitcher had a great inside screwball that jammed up a lot of our girls, including myself. But the ones who adjusted at the plate and went in with that fighting attitude came out with the hits.

Tanisha (Milca) got it started for us a lot of the time, Kate (Robinson) got on a couple times and pitched a fantastic game, and then Brandi's (Peiler) clutch two-run double to win the game for us. The energy was amazing!

I really think we had as many Hawai'i fans there as (the Bruins) did their own. A lot of UH athletes came out today. Tracie Uchima and Melissa Coogan, who were on our 2003 WAC championship softball team, were impressed with our wins and season thus far. Natasha Kai from soccer and Dan Kelly from the football team were also at the game. It was really nice seeing them in the stands cheering for us.

We just finished watching the Loyola Marymount-UCLA game. LMU just won, can't believe it!

We've played (the Lions) twice in our regular season, winning both games, but we're definitely not going into the game thinking we got it in the bag.

We're just so excited to still be here, undefeated in a regional tournament. We want this so bad, if we can keep getting those hits and pitching and playing defense the way we have been, we'll be okay.

Sleep is going to be hard tonight, we're all so pumped. I have no doubt we could play right now at 10 p.m. We're that ready.
