Game time set for UH's softball Super Regional opener

Advertiser Staff

The 12th-ranked University of Hawai'i softball team opens its first NCAA women's softball Super Regional against top-ranked Tennessee on Friday at Tyson Park in Knoxville, Tenn.

The first game of the best-of-three series is scheduled for 2 p.m. (Hawai'i time). The series winner advances to the Women's College World Series.

The second and third (if necessary) games are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (Hawai'i time) on Saturday. All three games are scheduled to be broadcast live on ESPNU, which is not shown on cable television in Hawai'i.

At least one Hawai'i establishment — Eastside Grill — said it will be showing games via sattelite.

The Lady Vols (57-5) are fifth-seeded overall in the NCAA Tournament and in their third consecutive Super Regional after beating Winthrop for the Knoxville Regional title on Sunday. Hawai'i (49-11) beat Loyola Marymount on Sunday for the Los Angeles Regional championship.
