Waikiki by Moonlight set for June 1

"Waikiki by Moonlight," returning June 1 for a second season, will focus on Waikiki old and new with a street fair, lots of music, and food vendors along Kalakaua Avenue, between Lewers Street and Seaside Avenue.The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m., with street closures beginning at 2:30 and all lanes closed at 5:30 p.m.
Among the entertainers lined up: Nina Keali'iwahamana, Mahi Beamer, Danny Couch, Randy Lorenzo, Justin Young, Ernie Cruz Jr., Jake Shimabukuro, Natural Vibrations, Pali and Kata Maduli and the Bridge Boys.
Mayor Mufi Hannemann will be a special guest, offering a musical tribute to the late Don Ho.
Japan's popular rock band, Tube, makes an appearance with Hannemann, and will present a donation check to Easter Seals of Hawai'i.
Several Waikiki restaurants Senor Frog's, Atlantis Seafood & Steak, Coconut Willy's, Giovanni Pastrami, Seafood Village, MAC 24-7 and the Hyatt Regency Waikiki will have food booths along Kalakaua Avenue.
