N. Shore victim died from shot to chest

A 30-year-old man critically wounded in a shooting late Saturday at Sunset Beach died of an "injury to the lung due to a gunshot wound to the upper chest," the Honolulu medical examiner's office said today.

Manner of death is listed as a homicide.

The ME's office is not releasing the name of the victim until confirming his identity but family members said the man is Dillon Ching.

The shooting was reported to police at 11:52 p.m. Ching was pronounced dead at Wahiawa General Hospital at 1:08 a.m. Sunday.
