Curbside upgrades under way in Diamond Head area

Work to install curb ramps at various spots around Diamond Head continues this week.

City crews will construct new curb ramps and sidewalks in the following areas: Leahi Avenue and Monsarrat Avenue, Pualei Circle, Makapu'u Avenue and Maunalei Avenue, Diamond Head Road and 18th Avenue, Diamond Head Road and 22nd Avenue, Diamond Head Road and Paikau Street, Paikau Street and Kaimanahila Street, Paikau Street and Kahala Avenue.

Work will be done between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. today through Friday.

Crews will also install pavement striping, markings and markers. Some traffic signals will be upgraded.

The project is slated to be completed by July.

Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling through work areas.
