Kalihi Shinto shrine to hold pet blessing June 3

Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha — Hawaii Dazaifu Tenmangu, the Shinto shrine at 1239 Olomea St. in Kalihi, will hold its Pet Blessing Festival at 10 a.m. June 3.Leashed or caged pets will be blessed during the four-hour festival; after the blessing, pets beat the summer heat with special "Pet Shave Ice."
