MANGROVE REMOVAL — Ducks Unlimited and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service need help with mangrove eradication to improve habitat for the Hawaiian stilt at Waiawa Unit in Pearl Harbor from 8 a.m.-noon June 2. Contact Christina Ryder at mcguirec@hawaii.edu.

CHUN'S REEF CLEANUP - Join Adopt-a-Beach Hawaii and Save The Sea Turtles International at noon June 2 for Chun's Reef Beach highway and coastal cleanup. KANE'OHE WETLAND PROJECT — Volunteers are needed June 9 to help the Sierra Club clear a wetland of mangrove to create habitat for endangered water birds at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i. Because the base is a secured facility, volunteers must provide name and Social Security number in advance and bring a signed waiver. Call Annette Kaohelauli'i at 235-5431.

KA IWI COAST CLEANUP — Join the Sierra Club 8-10:30 a.m. June 10 for a cleanup of the Ka Iwi coastline. Bring water, hat, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes; bags, gloves provided. Meet at the east restroom at Sandy Beach Park. Call 394-2898.

NATIVE FOREST PLANTING — The Maui Dryland Forest Restoration Group is taking a planting trip to the Auwahi native forest enclosure Saturday; meet at 'Ulupalakua Ranch Store.
