Car hits hydrant in Kaka'ako; crews working on repairs

Advertiser Staff

The Board of Water Supply is responding to a broken fire hydrant at 1065 Kawaiha'o Street in Kaka'ako.

Early police reports said a car hit the hydrant and drove off just before 5 a.m. The break sent water gushing high into the air until the main was shut off.

BWS crews are fixing the hydrant. There is no word yet on how many homes or businesses may be without water, or how long it will take to repair.
