Prosecutors today charged a man with drug and firearm offenses after he was arrested Monday night in a Kalihi police raid on an airport-area hotel room.

Michael Talavai Williams, 36, was charged with one count of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of an unregistered firearm.

His bail is $15,000. In addition, Williams, who has no permanent local address, is being held on outstanding warrants totaling $2,400.

Kalihi police supported by Specialized Services Division personnel recovered crystal methamphetamine and a revolver in a warrant search of the room at 8:15 p.m. The raid was in response to complaints of drug dealing in the room.

Kelli-Ann Gushikuma, 35, who was arrested with Williams, was sent to District Court today on a $20,000 parole revocation warrant.

Police also recovered stolen property and information related to identity theft in the room.
