UH volleyball's Hakala earns ESPN academic honor

University of Hawai'i men's volleyball player Lauri Hakala was named yesterday to the ESPN The Magazine Academic District VIII Men's At-Large (University Division) second team as voted on by the College of Sports Information Directors of America.Hakala, who majored in both speech and German, maintained a 3.69 (out of 4.00) cumulative grade point average while lettering three years for UH.
The native of Pieksamaki, Finland, was a 2005-06 District VIII first team selection while also garnering AVCA All-America honors.
