Web site adds Honolulu to list

A Web site that helps users navigate around cities with public transportation said it's added Honolulu to its offerings.

"Hawai'i has one of the most vibrant tourist industries in the country, and we feel that PublicRoutes.com is a very useful and practical resource for anyone coming into the state," said Marc Sellouk, chief executive officer of www.PublicRoutes.com, in a press release.

"Honolulu is our 17th major metropolitan launch and www.PublicRoutes.com is quickly becoming synonymous with great directions worldwide."


COMPANY SELLING HAWAI'I BRAND

A California-based startup company retailing surf and skate apparel online has begun selling items by local brand BAYVI.

AntiApparel.com was established in March by Hawai'i-born entrepreneurs Sean Brady and Adam Paddock with the intent to sell up-and-coming brands that the company hopes will become bigger.

Besides BAYVI, the retailer carries 15 brands from California and Florida.


EGG PRODUCTION DOWN 21 PERCENT

Hawai'i egg production fell to 6.9 million eggs in March, a 21 percent drop from the same month a year earlier, according to the Hawai'i office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service.

The average number of laying hens in March was estimated at 388,000, down 17 percent from the same month a year earlier.


SPA EXPANDING TO KAKA'AKO

Locally-owned day spa Heaven on Earth expects to open a second Honolulu location July 1 at the Ko'olani condominium tower in Kaka'ako.

The facility will be open to the general public.

At 20,000 square feet, Heaven on Earth Spa Club & Café will be considerably bigger than the company's downtown location at 1050 Alakea St.

Heaven on Earth was established in 1998 by Lora Nakai, who previously operated Executive Massage.
