The Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation has donated $150,000 to the 'Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai'i , in Hilo, to support the center's educational mission.

In appreciation of the gift, the astronomy center renamed its gift shop the Bank of Hawaii Museum Store.

Bank of Hawaii Chairman and CEO Al Landon said the foundation is "a hundred percent behind the center's mission to help inspire and educate new generations of youth to pursue an interest in science."

The center opened a year ago in the University of Hawai'i-Hilo Science and Technology Park, and has the largest planetarium in the state.
