A 21-year-old man arrested today in Waipahu on suspicion of auto and identity theft is also a suspect in an August 2006 threatening and assault investigation.

The man was a passenger in a car driven by a juvenile that was stopped by police at 3:30 p.m. Police allegedly found drugs and stolen confidential personal information in the car.

The man was booked for auto and ID theft, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

While being booked, police learned that he is a suspect in an incident nine months ago in which a 20-year-old man was attacked with a knife in his garage.

The suspect also threw a brick, damaging the victim's bicycle, and shot a pellet gun at the victim and two witnesses. The arrested man was booked for third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal property damage, and three counts of second-degree terroristic threatening.
