Former Kekaulike golfer leads NAIA championship

Point Loma Nazarene University sophomore Sam Cyr, a 2005 King Kekaulike graduate, leads after the third round of the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship in Plymouth, Ind.

Cyr shot a 5-under-par 67 today to finish with a 5-under 211 total, moving him up from a tie for eighth place. He leads David Tobon of Johnson & Wales (Fla.) by two strokes.

Cyr had rounds of 71 and 73 in the first and second rounds. He was an All-American last year after finishing 11th at the national championship.

The final round is tomorrow.
