Navy man extinguished human fireball

Advertiser Staff Writer

A Navy man en route to San Diego from a nine-month Middle East deployment extinguished the flames after a man set himself on fire yesterday at 1676 Ala Moana.

The man suffered burns over 100 percent of his body.He was taken to Straub Clinic & Hospital.

According to the father of sailor Romulo M. Ancho Jr., his son suffered a cut hand when he broke a glass casing to get an extinguisher to put out the fire.

The cut required eight stitches, the senior Ancho said from California.

His son is aboard the USS Boxer which is heading back to San Diego.
