2 ASSETS students win national art competition

News Release

Two students from ASSETS, the Mapunapuna school that serves gifted and dyslexic children, were selected as winners in two of the three age categories for the National Center for Learning Disabilities naional art competition.

Art had to express what life is like for individuals with learning disabilities.

Davin Char, a senior from Hawai'i Kai who just graduated last week, won in the category for artists 18 years old and above.

Shane Haggerty, a sixth-grader from Kane'ohe, won in the category for artists 4 to 13 years of age.
