Advertiser Staff

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played in "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "The Last Emperor," will host a workshop on acting at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in June.

The workshop costs $300 and runs June 9 to 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Tagawa will talk about how to dissect a script, interact with other actors, prepare for auditions and deal with directors, producers and studios. Tagawa has had several guest appearances on television shows, including "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Moonlighting."

He recently completed a Disney Channel feature called "Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board," which airs in June. It is the sequel to the popular 1999 Disney special, "Johnny Tsunami."

The event will be held in Krauss Hall, Room 12.
