Tennessee's Abbott no-hits Rainbows in Super Regional

Monica Abbott pitched a five-inning no-hitter today to lead Tennessee to a 9-0 victory over Hawai'i in the opener of NCAA Softball Super Regional at Knoxville, Tenn.The second game in the best-of-three series is at 10 a.m. (Hawai'i time) tomorrow. Tennessee is 58-5. Hawai'i is 49-12.
Abbott (45-3) struck out 10 and walked two in the game shortened by the eight-run rule.
Justine Smethurst (19-9) took the loss for Hawai'i, giving up nine runs, five earned. The Rainbow Wahine committed three errors.
