Jake back for Hawai'i shows after month in Japan

Back in Hawai'i after a month-long tour of Japan, Jake Shimabukuro will play at the Waikiki Under the Stars festivalon June 1.
The street festival on Kalakaua Ave. between Seaside and Lewers will also feature Natural Vibrations, Justin Young, Ernie Cruz, Jr. and Danny Couch.
Shimabukuro's album "Gently Weeps" is up for a 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Best Instrumental Album of the Year.
The CD cracked the Borders Local Top 10 list 28 times, remaining in the top 5 for 17 straight weeks following its September 2006 release. The album also appeared on the Billboard Magazine weekly World Music Chart 16 times, debuting at the No. 2 spot.
Much of the album's success is due in part to the clip of Shimabukuro in Central Park playing George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on YouTube.com. The clip has attracted more than 1.5 million combined views.
