Pet blessing set for June 3 in Kalihi

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha temple in Kalihi will go to the dogs — and cats, or any other pets — June 3 in celebration of "pet appreciation week."

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can bring their caged or leashed pets for a complimentary blessing. Afterward, they can stick around to give their furry friends a sampling of "pet shave ice." The shrine is located at 1239 Olomea St.

Street parking is available, and attendees can also park in the temple lot.
