Catch zingers on high seas

Geoffrey Rush's monkey. Keira Knightley's corset. There are plenty of reasons to love "Pirates of the Caribbean," but first among them is Johnny Depp's swish-buckling Capt. Jack Sparrow.

Think of your favorite lines from the first two movies, such as "Why is the rum gone?" They just don't have the same zing in print. And that includes what might be the best line of all. When Admiral Norrington sniffs, "You are without doubt the worst pirate I've ever heard of," Jack's eyes blaze with impish pride: "But you have heard of me." Here are three more naughty one-liners.

When Will Turner declares, "In a fair fight, I'd kill you," Jack has the perfect riposte: "That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?"

Best indecent proposal: "You know, these clothes do not flatter you at all. It should be a dress or nothing. I happen to have no dress in my cabin."

"There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing," Elizabeth Swann declares in the second movie.

"I love those moments," Jack replies. "I like to wave at them as they pass by."
