A 27-year-old woman and 32-year-old man were charged today with drug offenses after being arrested Friday in a car reported stolen by an airport rental company.

Helen Marie Hites, who has no permanent local address, was charged with auto theft, second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and two firearm offenses, including being a felon in possession.

Hites' bail is $50,000. She also is being held on an outstanding $30,000 warrant.

Donovan K. Kamakani, 32, of Kaimuki was charged with two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. He was released after posting $15,000 bail.

Both have initial appearances scheduled Tuesday at District Court.

Hites and Kamakani were arrested Friday at 3 a.m. on Rycroft Street after police allegedly saw them in the stolen vehicle.
