Bode-led HPU men finish No. 3 in West Region tennis

Led by sophomore Hendrik Bode, the Hawai'i Pacific University men's tennis team finished No. 3 in the final West Region ranking, which was voted on by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Bode, of Lehrte, Germany, earned the top singles player in the West Region and was picked Rookie of the Year. Bode finished 14-0 in decided matches in earning top honors for the West Region. He also finished ranked No. 17 nationally in singles and No. 25 in doubles with Peter Raben.

The Sea Warriors had a banner year, reaching the NCAA National Tournament before falling to eventual champion Lynn University. They finished 14-5 in a season highlighted by a win over BYU-Hawai'i in the NCAA Regionals.
