Local developers honored by real estate association

The Hawai'i chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties announced its annual recognition of outstanding developers and real-estate projects that included The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group as co-developers of the year for their work on residential towers Hokua and Capitol Place as well as shopping centers Kapolei Commons and Kona Commons.

The organization at a ceremony on Friday also presented awards to Campbell Estate trustees for lifetime achievement, and to the late Masaru "Pundy" Yokouchi for outstanding service.

Nine projects received awards in excellence:

i Hawaii Baptist Academy middle school for new nonprofit project

i 'Imiloa Astronomy Center for new government project

i Hokua for new large project (over 40,000 square feet)

i D. Otani Produce warehouse for new large project

i Kalapawai Cafe & Deli for new small project

i Pacific Aviation Museum for nonprofit renovation

i Servco Auto Honolulu/Toyota City for large renovation

i Waikiki Beach Walk for large renovation

i Kailua Tower Center II for small renovation
