U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono was on The Hot Seat today for a live blog chat. Congresswoman Hirono is in her first term in Washington D.C., having won the seat vacated by Ed Case.

Among her most recent votes, Hirono joined her House counterpart, Rep. Neil Abercrombie, in voting against the latest supplemental funding bill for Iraq. Hawai'i's congressional delegation split on the issue, with Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel Akaka among the 37 Democrats voting for it. The bill cleared both the Senate and the House; the president is expected to sign it.

You can catch excerpts from today's session in Sunday's Focus section.
