Three airlines extend dates for $9 interisland fares

After selling most of their $9 interisland air tickets, Hawai'i's largest carriers said today that they have extended the discounted fares.

Mesa Air Group's go! announced on Sunday that it was lowering one-way interisland fares to $9 for travel between June 1 and Sept. 30, prompting competitors Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to match.

Today, go! announced it would extend the $9 offering for travel between May 29 and Dec. 15 after the airline virtually sold all of the $9 seats. The Both Hawaiian and Aloha said they have matched the fare.

Restrictions apply and tickets much be purchased on the airlines' Web sites by Friday.
