Art fans can lunch with Masami Teraoka June 10

Smart and savvy Chronicle Books in San Francisco is publishing "Ascending Chaos: The Art of Masami Teraoka 1966-2006,"the first retrospective book of the work of one of Hawai'i's best-known artists.

To celebrate the milestone, The Contemporary Museum is holding a lunch with the artist on June 10. Participants can chat and break bread with Teraoka, who will also sign books.

The Contemporary Museum's cafe will serve a special Japanese menu of miso salmon with lotus chips, tamago yaki, chawan mushi and soba noodle salad.
