Maekawa, Yada named players of the year in BIIF golf

Honoka'a High School's Sean Maekawa and Waiakea's Britney Yada were named Big Island Interscholastic Federation players of the year for boys and girls golf.

Both won the BIIF individual titles this year and Maekawa won the state boys tournament title. He also became the first golfer to win four BIIF titles.

Coaches of the year honors went to Lee Hardy of Waiakea (boys) and Ken Watanabe of Waiakea (girls).
