Glass artist wins wholesale market award

Kailua-based glass artist Geoff Lee of Island Glassworks has been named a Merit Award winner for the August 2007 Buyers Market of American Craft.
He is one of only four artists in four categories to be selected from hundreds of applications.
Lee has worked as a professional glassblower in Seattle, Ohio and Pennsylvania; his work uses nature and traditional Italian glass blowing techniques.
The Merit Award assists emerging artists to enter the wholesale marketplace. Winners receive booth space at a reduced cost and are assigned a mentor to guide them through their entrance into the wholesale American craft community.
