Haleakala to host star-gazing

Haleakala National Park has special evening programs scheduled for June. The free programs will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hosmer Grove campground.

The "Creation of the Universe" star-gazing program will be held tomorrow, and on June 8, the topic will be "Global Warming: How it affects Haleakala and other National Parks."

Another star-gazing program called "Birth of Agriculture" will be held June 16. The June 23 event will discuss "Migration across the Pacific Ocean: How the first people came to Hawai'i."

The park entrance fee is $10 per vehicle for a three-day pass or $25 for an annual pass.
