Flood advisories canceled for Oahu, Lanai

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service canceled its flood advisories for O'ahu and Lana'i at 8:30 p.m. but the overnight forecast calls for heavy intermittent showers on the widward sides of all islands. The advisories covered a two-hour period until 8:30 p.m. and was the result of heavy rainfall in the afternoon, said forecaster Derek Wroe.

The heaviest drenching on O'ahu occurred from Niu Valley through Hawai'i Kai to Waimanalo, said Wroe.

Lana'i, meanwhile, got .63 inch of rainfall in a 15-minute period late this afternoon, according to Wroe.
