Surf on the rise along northern shores

Advertiser Staff

Surf will be rising from 6 feet overnight to 8 to 10 feet along north-facing shores today, the National Weather Service said.

A moderate south swell is also arriving and will raise surf into the 3- to 6-foot range today. It will peak near the advisory level Friday and gradually decrease on Saturday. A new south swell arriving Saturday night will build on Sunday and is likely to produce advisory level surf. The National Weather Service also said a series of northwest swells will continue, but surf along north and west facing shores will remain below the advisory level.

Surf along west and east shores will be 4 to 6 feet today.
