Kauai Navy facility to get new power generating unit

FuelCell Energy Inc., a maker of power plants, said it sold one of its electric power plants for use at the Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kaua'i.

FuelCell Energy said the system is being purchased by LOGANEnergy, which will own and operate the plant that is scheduled for installation by September 2009. The system will run on propane gas and will provide about 36 percent of the Navy facility's power needs, Danbury,

Connecticut-based FuelCell Energy said.
